ESCAPE THE VAPE

Girl Scouts promise to make the world a better place. We decided we could help make our community better by helping other young people stay away from cigarettes and vapes.
We learned that tobacco was a big part of the history of our city, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Around here a lot of people worked in the business of smoking.
We did research about smoking and vaping. We shared what we learned with each other.
When we visited the Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont council offices, we were excited to see a sign saying the building is tobacco-free.
We learned that companies use advertising and flavors that appeal to kids to encourage them to use e-cigarettes.
We learned that youth smoking and vaping is a big problem and it starts for some kids who are the same age as us.
